"Clean slate," it's a term that a lot of people are throwing around when describing new head coach Todd Monken's Jyrki Lumme Jersey approach to quarterbacks on his roster. Each of them, most notably Deshaun Watson, has the aforementioned 'clean slate' for the 2026 season. Regardle s of anything they've done or not done in the past. It's a belief that many in the media are embracing. on X spoke about how this methodology has led to the Browns having a "healthy" quarterback room with "no pasts" and "no favorites". Former NFL player turned broadcaster and media personality, is adamant that you have to come in with a 'clean slate' approach to the quarterback position. Even long-time analyst and former Super Bowl winner is of the mindset that this is a new beginning, specifically for Watson. It's become almost a rallying cry for those still holding onto hope that someone, anyone in the Browns locker room, is going to be the one who steps up to the plate for the team and leads them to glory. While this pertains to everyone in the quarterback room, it mostly focuses on Watson. He's suffered severe injuries to his throwing shoulder, his ankle, and his Achilles tendon. All while dealing with public scrutiny for his on-field play and off-field behavior.
